DRUMS CLASSES

BEGINNER

Objective: To introduce the fundamentals of drumming, build coordination, and develop rhythm through fun and structured learning.

  • Introduction to the drum kit: Snare, toms, cymbals, bass drum, hi-hat

  • Basic grip, hand technique, and posture

  • Fun and easy drum notation reading

  • Essential rudiments: Single strokes, double strokes, paradiddles

  • Understanding basic note values (quarter, eighth, etc.)

  • Coordination exercises for hands and feet

  • Basic rock & pop grooves, simple fills and transitions

  • Playing beginner songs with backing tracks

  • Introduction to dynamics: Soft and loud playing

  • Performance basics: Playing along with a band

  • Grades Covered: Equivalent to Trinity/Rockschool Grade 1–2

INTERMEDIATE

Objective: To expand groove vocabulary, improve technical control, and introduce stylistic and creative playing.

  • Developing speed, control, and accuracy through advanced rudiments

  • Implementing rudiments in grooves and creative fills

  • Introduction to ghost notes and syncopation

  • Understanding and playing in odd time signatures (5/4, 7/8)

  • Genre exploration: Rock, Funk, Jazz

  • Introduction to double bass drumming

  • Song structure analysis and improvisation techniques

  • Dynamic playing and accent control

  • Intermediate-level play-alongs and jam sessions

  • Preparing for Trinity/Rockschool Grade 3–5 Exams

  • Grades Covered: Grade 3–5

ADVANCED

Objective: To master complex rhythms, genres, and solo techniques, and prepare for live/studio performance and career pathways.

  • Mastering all 40 essential drum rudiments

  • High-speed drumming techniques and endurance building

  • Advanced grooves and styles: Jazz, Latin, Metal, Fusion

  • Double bass mastery and foot control

  • Advanced independence and coordination drills

  • Complex polyrhythms and time signatures (9/8, 11/8, 13/8)

  • Soloing techniques and creative improvisation

  • Studio drumming: Recording techniques, click tracking

  • Live performance skills and showmanship

  • Career consultations: Performing live, teaching, content creation, and more

  • Preparing for Trinity/Rockschool Grade 6–8 Exams
